Dr. Burk received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University in 2004. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Wisconsin and a member of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Dr. Burk completed internships at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Indiana University Medical School, and postdoctoral training in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Since 1993, she has provided psychotherapy, assessment and consultation services to adults, adolescents, children and parent-infant dyads. Dr. Burk provides behavioral and cognitive behavior therapy to treat individuals with symptoms of depression, anxiety, impulse control disorders, trauma, relationship difficulties, and developmental disabilities. She is also trained to conduct diagnostic assessments for a range of mental health, developmental and neuropsychological conditions. Dr. Burk has worked as a psychologist, behavioral consultant, and family therapist across a range of settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, residential treatment facilities, juvenile corrections and schools. In addition to working for ACT, Dr. Burk is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Director of the Psychology Research and Training Clinic where she teaches, provides clinical services and conducts research.
