School Readiness Groups

Young child learning classroom participation and independence skills

School Readiness is a program offered to current ACT clients ages ranging from 3-7 years old. The primary focus of this class is preparing our learners to independently participate in a classroom setting. Lessons are guided by The Preschool Life Skills (PLS). This is a research based curriculum targeting skills such as:

  • Responding when their name is called
  • Following simple and complex instructions
  • Tolerating delays
  • Recruiting attention from others
  • Developing friendship skills

These foundational skills are imperative to student success in a classroom environment. In addition to PLS, School Readiness is an ideal setting for generalizing individualized goals and focusing on peer interactions in a small group environment while having the support of a 1:1 staff member.
