Working as a line therapist with ACT has helped prepare me to be a future Speech-Language Pathologist. As a line therapist, I’ve learned how to organize and conduct a one-on-one therapy session, provide therapy to a wide variety of kids, and work with both families and other therapists to determine and implement treatment needs. Through ACT I have been able to gain clinical experience that most other students entering graduate school do not have.
- Liz Feit
I have previously worked with various other autism treatment programs and I have never felt more supported at any other program than I have at Achieving Collaborative Treatment. Achieving Collaborative Treatment goes above and beyond to include a team approach that supports the client, the family, and the staff members, which enhances the treatment process. Not only is each client treated respectfully as an individual, but everyone is included in the planning process to ensure the client will reach their full potential.
My experience at ACT gave me the opportunity to create strong ties with the communities surrounding Madison, Wisconsin. Their unique therapeutic method of implementing scientific practices, while also accounting for the client’s personal needs, gave me the opportunity to serve my clients in more specific and rewarding ways, while also learning the science behind the therapy. As a line therapist, I have proud to be part of creative therapy teams that catered to each client individually!
- Jessica Farah, Line Behavioral Therapist
Working as a part of ACT made a significant impact on my life and career. Being a line therapist gave me the flexibility to finish my education while gaining priceless hands on experience in my field. Today as a special education teacher I constantly call on this experience while working with students, families and other teachers. Working at ACT opened the door to many professional opportunities after college and will continue in the future.
- Alicia Stay, Special Education Teacher
By working with ACT, I had the opportunity to provide effective treatment in a way that allowed me to truly connect with the kids. As I begin my career in medicine, I will without a doubt continuously remind myself that treatment and therapy work best when good relationships and feelings of mutual respect are also present.
